What is an Upheal telehealth session?

An Upheal telehealth session is a session held on our own video calling platform in the Upheal web app. It feels similar to other popular video callers you and your clients are already used to. (And yes, you can use headphones!)

You can use Upheal telehealth with or without AI:

  • With AI, you’ll get automatic notes and insights.

  • 🔒 Without AI, you won’t get these automated notes, but you’ll still be using a secure, private, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for your sessions.

ℹ️ Pricing note:

Calls with AI are available on certain paid plans. Please see our pricing page for details.

You can use Upheal video calling without AI on all plans, including Free.

Holding a telehealth session in Upheal

  1. You have multiple options for starting the session:

    • Start from a scheduled calendar event: Click Start virtual session

    • Start from a client's profile: Click Start new session, then Start call under Upheal telehealth

    • Start from the menu: Click Telehealth, then click Start session

    • Start from the New note button: Click New note, then Start call under Upheal telehealth (Upheal Notes only)

  2. If you begin from the menu, select the client with whom you want to hold the session.

  3. Now, you’re in your session waiting room.

If your client hasn't joined, you'll see the message: Your waiting room is empty.

  4. Once your client has asked to join, you'll see them in the waiting room.

    To begin, click Start session.

  5. Hold your session as usual — Upheal telehealth works like any typical video call.

  6. When you're finished, click the red phone button to end the session.

  7. If you're using telehealth with AI, you'll see your notes, transcript, and analytics after the session.
