Frequently asked questions

How does Upheal's pricing work?

For individuals, we offer a free plan and two paid tiers at set prices. If you’d like to use our free plan, no credit card is required. Each higher tier includes more advanced features. You can pick a monthly plan, or save 20% with a yearly plan.

For group practices of 2 to 20 providers, we offer pricing based on how many sessions you hold, rather than how many team members you have. See the Group practice tab above for more details.

For even larger organizations, see the Enterprise tab.

Can I customize my plan?

As of now, the options for our individual plans are set. However, if your larger organization would like to join Upheal, we might be able to accommodate more specific needs. Please feel free to reach out to us.

Does Upheal offer discounts for students or associate level therapists?

Yes, Upheal offers 50% off your first 12 months of Upheal. After starting your trial, please email support@upheal.io with a screenshot of your student or associate status with expiry date. This discount can not be combined with any other offers and only applies to our Starter and Premium plans.

Can I pause my subscription/payment?

You can pause your subscription for up to two months. To pause, contact Support, choose a date to automatically resume your plan, and reach out to confirm when you’re ready to start again. While your subscription is paused, you can still sign in to your account and access your notes — it’s just like being on our free plan.

How secure is Upheal?

Upheal is committed to the highest standards of privacy and security. Our platform is HIPAA-compliant and adheres other privacy regulations worldwide. We use record-level encryption and perform regular security audits to protect your and your clients’ data. More on our privacy practices and technical security monitoring.

How do I switch to an organization-paid plan?

If you use Upheal as an individual, and you’re going to be added to a larger practice or organization, the paying organization will invite you to their Team plan. If you want your clients and data transferred to your new organization, please contact Upheal Support.

Does Upheal offer a discount for nonprofits?

If you work for a nonprofit organization and would like to use Upheal, please contact us.

Will I be charged sales tax?

You won’t be charged sales tax on your Upheal subscription.

How and when can I cancel my subscription or trial?

You can cancel any time. Just contact Support, and we’ll assist. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period, and then you won’t be charged again.

For both monthly and yearly plans, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee in case you change your mind about your subscription. After 30 days, any cancellation will take effect at the end of your billing cycle, monthly or annual.

Where can I update my payment method?

To update your payment method, go to Settings Plans and billing. If you need help, please contact Support in the Upheal app, and we’ll assist.

Can I assign different roles to my team members?

Yes, we offer different roles in the Upheal app to suit your team members’ access and administrative needs. There’s no per-seat charge — Billing is based on number of sessions, not number of team members, so you can add as many seats as you like.

Is there a free option for teams?

Yes, your team can use Upheal for free. You’ll get a 14-day full-featured trial, after which you’ll move to our Free plan if you don’t subscribe to a paid plan. Don’t worry, you won’t lose any client or session data.

On our Free plan, you’ll get unlimited notes, but you won’t have access to live session capture options, several note types, or more advanced tools. You can still generate notes from written summaries, dictation, and uploaded recordings, plus use Upheal for secure video calls without note generation.
