You can add a client without providing their email address. You might want to do this if you hold sessions in person and don’t have any need to email your client.
Without a client’s email address, you won't be able to schedule sessions with them via your Upheal calendar. However, you can still hold a session with them using any method, including our telehealth platform.
Be aware that regardless of how you get notes from Upheal, or if you store client profiles and emails, you'll still need to collect consent to your Practice-Client Privacy Policy.
Adding a new client without an email address
From the menu, click Clients to go to your client list.
Click Add client.
Choose if your client is an individual or couple.
Fill in the client’s details, and click Add new client.
You'll be taken to the client's profile page.
Telehealth with clients who don't have stored email addresses
When your client joins an Upheal telehealth call, they'll be prompted to enter an email address. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that the email will be stored in Upheal.
If the provided email address doesn't match an email already associated with a client profile, you'll see the option to create a new client, or choose from your existing clients:
From here:
If you want to add the person as new client: Enter the name and pronouns of the new client. When you click Generate note, the client profile is created automatically with their provided email address.
If you want to select an existing client: Click Select from existing, and choose the correct client. The email address the client provided still won't be associated with their profile.
If you want to keep the session anonymous: Click Select from existing, and choose Anonymous individual or Anonymous couple.
