As a Backend Engineer at Upheal, you’ll play a vital role in making this happen!

We believe in building a flexible and adaptable tech stack that supports our mission. While our current stack includes:

• Architecture: microservices
• Languages: Kotlin, Python
• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambdas)
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, document databases
• APIs & Tools: GraphQL, Spring, BetterStack, Linear, GitHub, Copilot

We understand that technology is constantly evolving, and great engineers can quickly master new tools and frameworks. We encourage you to share your expertise, even if it doesn't match our current stack. We're always open to exploring new technologies that can improve our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant backend services
• Own the development and maintenance of secure and reliable APIs (GraphQL, REST) for seamless integration with our frontend.
• Monitor and optimize backend performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Collaborate in a cross-platform team with a designer, frontend & quality assurance engineers to deliver an awesome user experience.
